When your email bill jumps

Email tools do not charge by what you use. They charge by how many people are on your list, in bands, and the bill steps up the day you cross one. Enter your list and your growth to see the next step, what it costs, and roughly when you get there.

Pick a vendor to see the next band.

Bands and prices are the ones published on each vendor's own pricing page, last read 2026-10-16. Growth is treated as a straight line, which no list actually follows; the dates are an estimate to plan against, not a promise. Where a vendor prices a band on a slider I have not captured, the row says so rather than guessing.

Why the jump is the number that matters

At a small list the difference between vendors is a few dollars a month. The difference that matters is what happens at 1,000, at 5,000, at 25,000: the same tool can double in price while your list grows by one person. That is not a criticism of the model, it is just how it works, and it is knowable in advance rather than at the moment the invoice arrives.

Two things are worth doing before you cross a band. Check whether the vendor counts unsubscribed contacts toward your total, because several do and clearing them can put you back under the edge; each vendor page here quotes its own wording on that. And check the price of the band after next, on the list-size table, because the step after the one you are about to take is sometimes much steeper.

What this does not know

The hosting equivalent of this page is the renewal calendar, which gives the date an intro price ends.
